Gustafson Piano Tuning is a family-owned, licensed, and insured business built on faith, craftsmanship, and care. Founded by Steve and Sarah Gustafson, our mission is to help every piano we touch sing with clarity, beauty, and purpose.
Meet The Gustafson Team
Sarah Gustafson
Sarah is a managing partner at Gustafson Piano Tuning, working with her husband Steve to provide expert piano care. She manages the website and social media, ensuring clear, current communication with clients and the music community. Sarah handles financial tasks—billing, budgeting—and oversees office operations to keep daily workflow efficient. Her organizational skills and multitasking make her essential to the team. She also performs necessary repairs on client pianos, ensuring instruments are maintained for best tone and playability. Outside work, she enjoys music, community events, and family time.
Steve Gustafson
Steve is a managing partner of Gustafson Piano Tuning with over a decade of tuning experience and a lifelong dedication to music. He earned a BM from Eastern Michigan University (1988) and an MM from Louisiana State University (1994).
Steve has taught at River Parishes Community College, Baton Rouge Community College, the Academy Music Preparatory School at LSU, and Baton Rouge Music Studios, focusing on core musical skills across genres.
His combined roles as tuner, performer, church musician, and teacher make him a valued member of the region’s music community.
Jarrett Gustafson
Jarrett Gustafson is an apprentice at Gustafson Piano Tuning and a Louisiana State University jazz guitar graduate. His training in harmony and tone informs piano voicing, balance, and dynamic shading to improve tone and playability. He assists with tuning under senior technicians, and his performance background helps him collaborate with clients for practice, performance, or recording. He performs and teaches outside work, bringing patience, discipline, and a musician’s perspective to the team.
